What does it mean to be "vested" in my retirement plan?
Answered By Randy Yingger, Editor
Being vested in a retirement plan means that you have full access to your contributions. For example, in a 401(k) plan, you can take everything that you have contributed to that plan. If you have a retirement plan wherein you have a percentage of the contributions, you can take your percentage with you if you leave.
